This paper considers immersive journalism as the process of documentation in which the journalist experiences a series of first-person experiences with the aim of narrating them from an empathetic point of view. These experiences take place in specific environments in which the writer interacts with the inhabitants. This way of working finds a good ally in narrative genres, such as the chronicle or the report, to express itself. The moment of writing is what we understand as narrative journalism. Joining two cultural fields, cinema and narrative journalism, these lines focus on one of the most influential chroniclers of the 20th century: John Reed. Specifically, how two of his best-remembered works have served as inspiration for their adaptation for the big screen.
